Welcome to the online portfolio of Jessie Couzelis

I am an interdisciplinary artist from Vancouver, Canada, currently based in Paris, France after an extended period traveling in Europe and North Africa.  My recent work is inspired by the freedom and spontaneity of my nomadic lifestyle.  This is reflected in the compositions of my abstract mixed media paintings; I employ layers of paint, collage and textural applications to create artwork that is both autobiographical and fantastical.  Apart from painting and exhibiting, I teach creative workshops to groups of all ages and am exploring projects in poetry, participatory installation, and film
